You don’t need an excuse for a motorcycle or convertible ride here… But if you want one, here it is! A great little place, with a rooftop terrace overlooking the lake, home-brewed beers, a menu of local flavors… and the perfect atmosphere. Me, I settle down with a nacho from the chef, a “Feu de camp” beer in hand, and enjoy the view.

15 km of fun at Mont-Orignal, flowy or technical trails, and a gang that knows how to ride (and receive). If you don’t have equipment like I do, don’t stress-you can rent it on site. And here’s a little bonus: with your day pass, you even get a night’s rustic camping. A ride, a fire and peace. It’s tempting!

My early summer classic? A stop HERE. I head for the back room to see the chocolate magic (because yes, here, we show you how it’s done!). Then comes the big moment: their new Tulipe Dubaï. Creamy ice cream, crunchy pistachio chocolate, fresh fruit… pure delight. We’ve even started a petition to keep it year-round!

In spring, I always go back. There’s something in the air there: the gardens awaken, soft light enters the halls with the new exhibitions… and time slows down, just a little. I wander between art and nature, finding a quiet spot for a picnic. Each time, I feel as if the place belongs to me. It does me a world of good.

Saint-Magloire isn’t just around the corner… but for this little café, I’ll gladly make the detour. It’s true, it’s good, and it tastes of the Ukrainian owner’s passion in every bite. A good coffee, a totally decadent homemade sweet, a view of Mont Bonnet… I swear, I don’t want to leave.

When I need to refocus, I head for Sainte-Aurélie. Here, you can feel 300 years of history in the air, the strength of the Abénaquis River, the quiet breath of the forest… and the boldness of the builders still very much alive. Between nature, heritage and discovery, I always come away feeling calmer… and a little prouder of my roots.

This is a women’s farm – three passionate generations – and you can feel it: everything is done with heart. It’s simple, beautiful and smells like summer!

When I want to eat well without breaking my back, I go to Barbuck’s.
Their fried chicken and wood-fired Martini pizza are the stuff of local legend-since 1958, no less. And as if that weren’t enough, we add another layer: tasty grilled meats, fresh produce… a spot where everyone can find something to their liking. Me first.

In spring, my friends arrive with their mountain bikes as if it were a sacred ritual: “Save us a spot, we’re coming!” The trails in the Etchemins region are a real treat: raw nature, dreamy views and the most amazing curves. Afterwards, it’s off to the terrace, for a nice little drink and a chat about mud.

When I need to get away from it all, this is where I go. A log cabin, right in the woods AND easy to get to – spa, BBQ, heated pool, and nearby trails for walking or mountain biking. We chat, we laugh around the fire, and we take the time to be there, just there. No watches, no stress… just a good time, together.
