Description

In a few words

Le RICANEUX is a family farm that for over 30 years has specialized in the production and processing of small fruits. Strawberries, raspberries, common elderberry, black chokecherries, cranberries and juneberries, and even Josta berries (cross between black currents and gooseberries) - are made into unique and characteristic products. Discover berry creams, Le Ricaneux aperitif, Le Rosé mousseux (sparkling wine) made out of strawberries and raspberries, and Le Portageur (port style), a fortified wine with berries and maple. Regional products and gift baskets are also among the delightful treats available. In addition to the special picnic area for visitors, the place is the perfect spot to start your bike ride. Tours available with or without a guide.

Foody Nature The gourmet getway of Discover your Quebec in Bellechasse!

Just back from Lanaudière, I already wanted to leave again and discover another region of Quebec. So, on a beautiful Sunday, I took the road towards Bellechasse, in Chaudière-Appalaches. In my opinion, this is a region that is little known and yet full of local discoveries. After a short visit to the Chaudières-Appalaches tourism website, I left for the day.

Foody Nature Angel and her lover discovering the vineyards

Through the cooler nights and the still hot days of August, we can slowly feel the end of summer setting in. At the same time, the fields are at the height of their abundance, filled with flowers and loaded with the fruits of the beautiful season. It is in this sweet nostalgia that the moment seems ideal to discover the vineyards of the surroundings! A succession of motivated and creative young winegrowers have started in recent years, bringing a breath of fresh air to a booming agritourism sector.

Arrêts Gourmands The know-how of our gourmet stops - Le Ricaneux: the best things are created with pleasure

In 1985, Jacques McIsaac was already growing berries on his farm in Saint-Charles-de Bellechasse when he created the project he had been simmering for a long time. His maternal grandmother made berry wines, and with the help of books he set out to develop the product he had in mind. "When I was a child, there was always something fermenting in the kitchen in all kinds of jugs," says Nathalie McIsaac, Jacques' daughter. It was with friends that his father developed Le Ricaneux in a perky atmosphere that is the very signature of the product.
