This summer, the Perseids will be active between 17 July and 24 August 2025. The best times to observe the Perseids are the nights of 11 to 14 August, with a peak in intensity on the night of 12 to 13 August, according to the Société d’astronomie du Planétarium de Montréal. Here are our favourite places to watch them, and some have prepared activities to enjoy this spectacle of shooting stars.

This site on the outskirts of Grand Lac Saint-François in the Saint-Daniel sector offers several types of accommodation, including Étoile ready-to-camp, a cubic structure covered in green canvas that sleeps up to 6 people.

The hiking trails offer magnificent views along the way. Once at the summit, you can admire the spectacular 360-degree panorama of the region and its many lakes.

The Relief festival from 8 to 10 August for road trip and travel enthusiasts. Speakers, musical performances, laughs with a comedian and, of course, a gravel drive down the slopes of Mont Adstock.

Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine 3 Monts de Coleraine

Nearly 20 km of signposted trails for hiking and running. Magnificent panoramic views can be enjoyed from the top of Oak (460 metres), Kerr (494 metres) and Caribou (558 metres) mountains.

WE GO FOR

At least one overnight stay, especially at this time of year. Choose between the 2 yurts located in the Caribou forest. The panoramic yurt will win you over with its view of the mountains and hills, while the woodland yurt offers a haven of peace and quiet. There are also three new self-catering chalets in the Mount Caribou area.

Sainte-Lucie-de-Beauregard Parc des Appalaches

It’s the perfect place to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities. With its network of 130 km of hiking trails, lakes and rivers, mountains with exceptional views, arched footbridges and various types of accommodation for visitors and campers.

Saint-Michel-de-Bellechasse Quai de la marina

Gilles Boutin, author of the book Les Aurores boréales Québec-Nunavik, is one of the best places to watch the northern lights, so it must work for shooting stars too!

Sainte-Agathe-de-Lotbinière Parc de la chute Ste-Agathe

This campsite, with its RV spaces, some thirty shaded rustic campsites and picnic areas, is a favourite meeting place, especially during the Perseid season.

In the heart of nature, watch the starry sky from the comfort of the peaceful beach or from the suspended footbridge, listening to the river flow beneath your feet.

Sainte-Croix Domaine Joly-De Lotbinière
