Our favourite way of escaping the greyness of November while spending some time outdoors is to go and enjoy a visit to the spa! Come rain or shine, as soon as the temperature cools, it’s the perfect time to soak in the hot tubs in the great outdoors.

 VIP treatment

We were keen to discover a new place, and we liked the idea of combining a little roadtrip with a spa getaway. So we left Lévis, drove through the Beauce and Thetford Mines region to the foot of Mont Adstock and dropped us off at the brand new Adstock Spa Nature.

Their aim is to offer a unique relaxation experience by deliberately limiting capacity on their enchanting site in the heart of the forest. We felt like we were getting VIP treatment (which they reserve for all their visitors), and it’s even possible to reserve a private section of the spa for small groups of 8 people or less. It can be a great activity for families (children aged 10 and over) or friends to come and relax while having the chance to chat in hushed tones, in complete privacy.

To set the tone and unwind as soon as we arrived, we started with a massage in a yurt. With a heated table, crackling wood fire and energising Swedish massage, everything was in place to plunge you into a state of deep relaxation.

 An immersion in the forest

We then shared a bowl of salmon orzo in a relaxing area. Simple, healthy, light meals are available if you want to grab a bite on the spot.

The facilities highlight nature and the welcome is warm. So it was with this feeling of being immersed in the forest that we set off for the sauna, cold (but cold!) bath, relaxation by the fire and in the spa, surrounded by wild nature. The place must also be magical in the evening with the little strings of lights that criss-cross the paths between the sites. We’ll definitely be back!

A stop at the farm stand

On the way back, we made a quick stop at Fermes Rudbeckie Farms, a year-round farm stand, to get our hands on their quality meats, as well as a divine little jar of black garlic purée produced locally byLa Terre du 9 (link in french). A perfect host gift, or to slip into a gourmet’s Christmas stocking!
