The Beauce, which is bathed by the Chaudière river, is known for its beautiful landscapes. And even in the heart of cities, we have managed to preserve and enhance natural areas that embellish the urban landscape.
Day 1
Just a few steps from Quebec City, start your journey by taking the first exit on the right indicating the Parc des chutes de la Chaudière where the falls of 35 meters high offer a striking sight.
Then, start your adventure in the heart of the Beauce culture by taking exit 124 on Highway 73. Continue your route with the Chaudière river as the only compass and as scenery the beautiful Beauceron valleys.
Head to Ste-Marie to tour the attractions. You will meet real enthusiasts who have shaped the Beauce culture. Let yourself be told the stories behind the famous Vachon cakes at the Maison J.A Vachon and/or those of the first pioneers of air at Musée de l'Aviation . Discover the Galerie d'art de Sainte-Marie and the Maison Pierre-Lacroix , the oldest stone house in Beauce.
To end your day in a festive way, head to the Broche à Foin in Scott (reservation required). Start at 16h with an aperitif on the charming terrace. At 18h, a 3-course dinner will be served so that from 20h you will be accompanied by two pianists who have arrived from San Diego and their grand piano. A party more than festive awaits you!
For a relaxed family atmosphere, La Cache à Maxime welcomes you in a charming vineyard, to spend the night at the hotel or in a chalet !

Day 2
Start with a good breakfast at Restaurant Le Greg at la Cache à Maxime and have a moment of relaxation at Noah Spa .
Then go stretch your legs discovering the nature side of Sainte-Marie and take a walk in the superb Parc Nature du Domaine Taschereau , the most flood ecological park in Quebec. This site reveals its wet ecosystems and offers 360-degree views of the Chaudière River.
Continue your journey to Valley-Jonction to discover a treasure of our heritage: Le musée ferroviaire de Beauce . Come and meet Mr. François Cliche, he will make you discover the history of the Quebec Cenral Railway in all its facets.
Continue your way up to St-Joseph-de-Beauce at the musée Marius-Barbeau . Discover the only place to know all about the beaucerons while living a colorful and guided experience. Do you like architecture? Take the opportunity to go for a walk in the city center! It is the largest institutional group classified in Quebec by its size and the large number of functions that are concentrated there.
Peckish? Go for a walk on the terrace of Resto-Bar Le Journel . Then, go and have fun by going to see a play at Théâtre de l'Hôtel de Ville a charming theater with 285 seats.

The next day, take your car and make a stop in Beauceville at the parc des rapides du diable or that of l’Ile ronde for a picnic in nature near the Chaudière river. Do not miss the Pont couvert Perreault de Notre-Dame-des-Pins , the longest of its kind in Quebec and the second in Canada, with its 154.5 meters.
Take the Beauce tourist route until Saint-Georges-de-Beauce : a lively city in the heart of nature!

From Saint-Georges, continue on your way to Saint-Gédéon, you will have a new perspective on the Chaudière river. You will see one of our curiosities : the papal podium. This is where Pope John Paul II celebrated his first Mass on Canadian soil during his visit in September 1984.
