Description

In a few words

The J.A. Vachon House, located in Sainte-Marie de Beauce, less than 20 minutes from the Québec bridges on Route 73 South, is the ancestral home of Vachon snack cakes. Accompanied by a tour guide, you will learn how this resourceful family from a modest background worked hard so their company would prosper. A visit to the residence, classified as a historic monument, will take you back to the time when Rose-Anna would make her goodies on the wood stove. You will also discover her first recipe book - the very one she used to record the recipes for her snack cakes as she created them. You will also learn how Rose-Anna did her bookkeeping to keep track of how much it cost to keep their modest business running. The tour finishes with a video on the history and production of the snack cakes at the factory, and, of course, two snack cakes per visitor.

Welcome to Beauce, a region brimming with hidden treasures, a harmonious symphony of flavors, hospitality and unforgettable adventures. The region is already well known for its delicious maple syrup and strong entrepreneurial heritage - just think of well-known Beauce companies like Céramique de Beauce, or Vachon, for example. But do you know about the region's resolutely gastronomic side, its fun and varied activities, and its top-quality accommodations, which have nothing to envy those found in the big cities?
