Le temps d'un Week-end

A must Parc du Massif du Sud

Less well-known than its northern counterpart, but just as epic: four peaks, two valleys, crystal-clear rivers, ancient forests… and a mountain range rising to 917 metres. Here, you can really switch off!

The new observation tower at Mont Saint-Magloire

The highest point in the Chaudière-Appalaches region at 917 meters!

Rising nearly 63 feet into the air (19 meters), the observation tower offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the spectacular Appalachian landscapes!

What’s more, on a clear day you can see Mount Katahdin, Maine’s majestic peak. Yes, really! You won’t want to miss this!

Not to be missed

01

Small caves… big impact!

The Abris-sous-roche trail (4.3 km – approx. 1 hr 30 mins) leads to some astonishing rock formations nestled in the forest, following an ascent punctuated by ladders and spectacular views of the Collines du Nord. A short but memorable adventure, loved by families… and given the thumbs-up by our children!

02

Climb, jump… and cool off!

A life-size obstacle course, rope bridges, tunnels and climbing walls… And to top it all off: a surprise dip in a crystal-clear river. Ange and her family loved it (and she talks about it right here)!

03

The hidden gem… of the Massif!

The Crête des Grives (11.1 km) is a well-kept secret amongst walkers: ancient forest, crystal-clear rivers, breathtaking views… a hidden gem in the heart of the Massif du Sud. Discover it before everyone else starts talking about it!

04

90 campsites, including more than 60 that are RV-friendly!

Spread across four areas, you’re sure to find something to suit you!

What’s more, the two new camping sectors, Les Peupliers (20 pitches) and Les Merisiers (10 pitches), are perfect for camping with a small motorhome or caravan. As for the rest, tent campers can also enjoy these spacious and secluded pitches in the forest. In short, there’s room for everyone!

05

Sleep in the forest. Wake up feeling relaxed.

Cosy lodges, welcoming yurts, stylish pods, boreal tents or cosy ready-to-camp pitches… all the comforts you need to enjoy the great outdoors, or the perfect starting point for a long hike.

06

The Grande Boucle… which certainly lives up to its name!

At 28.4 km with a 1,214-meter elevation gain, it’s the park’s longest loop! It’ll take you to the summit of Mont Saint-Magloire for a breathtaking view.

For the best experience, split the route in two with a good night’s rest at Base Camp or the Versant Sector, then set off refreshed and ready for 14 km of pure bliss. The perfect way to recharge your batteries in the great outdoors!

07

Whizzing down the slopes on a mountain bike

Four new trails to explore: La Flammèche, La Chute à Vince, La Jay Bleue and La Montée du Golgot!

Trails that are sometimes technical, sometimes fast-rolling, but above all accessible. A trip well worth the detour. Riders are sure to love it!

Everything you need to know about wild mushrooms

From foraging to cooking, mushrooms will hold no more secrets for you after taking part in one of Sébastien Royer’s workshops.

From 26 July to 13 September, during a trip to the forest, observe, identify and forage for the mushrooms all around you. You’ll never look at nature in the same way again!
