Top ideas Our team’s favourite outdoor dining terraces surrounded by nature!

When the sun’s out, we head for a terrace! But not just any terrace: one surrounded by nature! It’s the perfect chance to raise a glass (and tuck in) far from the hustle and bustle of the city, in the heart of the countryside. With local produce, craft beers and breathtaking scenery, these spots promise much more than just a meal.

Sara’s choice Bleuetière Marland Sainte-Marie

Every year, my partner asks me when their terrace opens. And to be honest, I’m looking forward to it just as much as he is! It’s a real favorite with my little family, both for the food and the atmosphere. Berry picking, games for the kids, a pizza bar, a little farm and a dairy bar – it’s the perfect all-in-one stop with a three-year-old!

I GO THERE FOR

Enjoy a delicious bacon pizza (our favourite) whilst my daughter watches the goats and rabbits. A lovely, laid-back day out – but oh so satisfying!

Odile’s choice Verger à Ti-Paul Saint-Elzéar

As soon as we arrive, the alpacas greet us and the view over the Beauce valleys is truly breathtaking. Add to that the warm welcome from Josiane and her team, a few songs from a singer-songwriter, a gourmet menu and a festive atmosphere that only the people of Beauce know how to create.

I GO THERE FOR

Whenever I want to show my friends the Beauce region I love, this is often where I take them. A wild boar burger, a maple cider and a few songs later, they understand why.

Amélie’s choice Bleu Citron Saint-Charles-de-Bellechasse

There are those who are still searching for the perfect terrace… and those who have found it. Here, every home-cooked dish showcases local produce, whilst the babbling brook whispers in the ears of those who know how to enjoy life. A place that’s kept (almost) a secret amongst discerning food lovers.

I GO THERE FOR

The simplicity that makes it all so perfect. A magnificent terrace, beautifully laid out and intimate, so that everyone feels at home. I’m won over by their pasta menu, particularly the prosciutto and mushroom pasta: linguine, rosé sauce, a mix of mushrooms (Ferme Coupe Champignon), and prosciutto (Viandes bio de Charlevoix).

Louis’s choice Verso Microbrasserie Lac-Etchemin

Here, the terrace isn’t just a place to enjoy a good beer. It’s the hub where friends meet up, where newcomers quickly become regulars, and where every round of drinks is accompanied by a sunset that silences everyone (just for a moment).

I GO THERE FOR

Take a break during a road trip in the area. I like to settle down at a table with a view of the lake. And I treat myself to the signature burger – whatever’s on the menu that day – and wash it all down with a Chela, a Mexican lager.

Ophélie’s choice Les Bleuets du Vire-Crêpes Lévis

Blueberries, yes, but also soft ice cream that tastes like heaven, a food truck with a thousand flavours, homemade blueberry fritters and, ABOVE ALL, a delicious brunch for the whole family! Let’s go!

I GO THERE FOR

Enjoy our traditional summer family outing with my sister. We settle down on the terrace and tuck into a brunch platter and eggs Benedict (our absolute favourites!), with a little mimosa in hand to take in the view of the blueberry fields. Every time we visit, we feel like part of the Vire-Crêpes family, and that’s priceless!

Sarah’s choice Du côté de chez Swann Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly

It’s a family tradition! Every summer, we head back to this Breton crêperie, which showcases local producers through its savory and sweet crêpes. Large, thin crêpes that are crispy yet tender… pure bliss!

I GO THERE FOR

Enjoy the wonderfully rustic terrace whilst the children have fun on the playground and jump on the trampoline. I always go for the ‘Village’ crêpe… but honestly, they’re all delicious!

Stéphanie's choice Le Plongeon - Brasserie Rurale Saint-Cyrille-de-Lessard

As soon as I stepped through the door onto the terrace, I felt as though I’d been transported somewhere else entirely – as if I were on holiday. The view of the countryside is magnificent and we’re surrounded by wildflowers – it’s just too perfect!

I GO THERE FOR

The full experience! We start with an aperitif on the terrace with their delicious beers (I’m particularly fond of the VVB) and a few starters to share. Then we head inside for the meal and find ourselves spoilt for choice with everything on their menu, as it’s all delicious!
