As snowmobile enthusiasts, we’d been wanting to do the Adventurer itinerary in the Chaudière-Appalaches region with our friends for a long time. Had we known, we would have done it long before!

The Adventurer Snowmobile Itinerary
It’s adrenalin in the air … and landscapes to dream about!
At last, we've got a date!
We’ve all managed to put an X for the same date in our diaries for two consecutive days of pure pleasure, beautiful winter scenery and good weather.
Our meeting point is at the Shell in Montmagny, right next to Trans-Québec #5, and off we go!
The great thing about having two days of snowmobiling ahead of you is that you can take the time to enjoy the scenery and all the attractions along the way. On Trans-Québec 35, the Monk section is a must on the way to the Massif du Sud sector!
Our first stop on trail 547 is Mount du Midi! The observation tower at a height of 3,000 feet offers an impressive view of the Appalachians!
No, but seriously, did you see the view!
We retraced our steps a little to head for the observation tower on trail 549 at the summit of Mount Saint-Magloire. On a clear day, you can see Mount Katahdin from the tower, but not today. Even so, it’s still really impressive.
We heat up the stove and take advantage of the opportunity to have lunch (it’s already 3pm!) in the little refuge at the base of the tower. We also took a little walk in the woods to be impressed by the snow-covered trees!
Reward on the way to the Auberge des Glacis
Our reward for today wasn’t planned, and it came on the way back. We return in the golden hour, with the full moon accompanying us to our final destination today, the Auberge des Glacis, for our dinner and accommodation in this welcoming country setting.
What a good life we live! We’re all amazed on our snowmobiles at the sight of this landscape at the end of the day during the golden hour.
Oh how we ate and slept! We were treated like snowmobile kings! The breakfast box full of local produce left in the bedroom fridge was also delicious, and perfect for saving a little time and getting ready for our second day on the Adventurer snowmobile itinerary. We planned the day’s itinerary and got busy getting on our snowmobiles.
Direction Sainte-Louise
At the Appalaches sports club (link in french), an outdoor fire catches our attention. We stop to remind ourselves that we’re living the good life as an Aventurer in Chaudière-Appalaches! For those who prefer the warmth of an indoor fireplace, that’s possible too.
That’s all well and good, but let’s get back to our favourite hobby: snowmobiling! When we made our plans this morning, we put on our agenda the Sainte-Louise observation point, where an exceptional view of the St Lawrence River awaits us. A diversion from the usual route that’s well worth it!
On the way back, we’re still having fun in the valleys we crossed earlier.
Lunch at the Centre sportif Le Jasmin (officially closed)
Another essential stop before heading to Saint-Pamphile is, of course, the Centre Sportif Le Jasmin for a bite to eat.
In our original plan, we wanted to go to Saint-Adalbert to enjoy the maple groves and the long straight stretches on Trans-Québec 55 between Saint-Pamphile and Saint-Adalbert, but we realised that we were running out of time and preferred not to return in the dark. Instead, we take trail 35, which takes us past Lac Therrien. Further on, we split up, with one group ending the excursion at the Auberge des Glacis, while the other group returned to the starting point of the first day.
