For the past two summers, Mont Adstock has been developing new mountain bike trails in its south and northeast sectors. The profile of these slopes guarantees plenty of thrills for enduro enthusiasts. Isabelle from Au Queb tells us about her experience on the mountain.

Mount Adstock takes on mountain biking

Mont Adstock has been on the move for a few years now, to say the least. The resort, which won over powder and wilderness enthusiasts with the addition of alpine hiking in winter, has recently started tackling mountain bike trippers with a new network of trails.

Mont Adstock has only been building trails for two seasons, and has already completed a total of nine kilometers. It’s an impressive project that will take several years to complete! We went for a ride there a few weeks ago, and discovered a nice mix of trails, both accessible to families and beginners, and to more advanced cyclists.

 Diverse terrain

Mont Adstock offers flowy enduro trails, with well-shaped shovel climbs. In summer, the southern sector revisits some of our usual ski runs, with wide, more open terrain that allows for the development of famous serial berms. Happy Hour is perfectly flowy!

The north-east sector, on the other hand, is deep in the forest and offers more singletrack. The Fifty Shades of Black, a true black diamond, was inaugurated at the start of the season. We didn’t get a chance to try it out, as Mother Nature had wet the trail to the hilt, but it looks like the track will give more seasoned cyclists a good thrill!

 Our favorites

What did we like best about our Mount Adstock experience?

The accessibility! The trails start a third of the way up the mountain, so you don’t have to pedal (and get out of breath!) all the way to the summit to get into descent mode. The ratio of effort to pleasure is perfect!

And as the climb is quick and easy, you can take on several trails in the same day and vary the type of terrain you ride.

As the weather wasn’t on our side, we only rode the southern sector during our visit. We had a lot of fun on several trails:

  • La Boa for the climb. Superbly designed, you don’t even realize you’re climbing!
  • The Berm-Aconda is a great thrill with its well-constructed turns.
  • The Happy Hour descent is THE trail to use to get back to the starting point. So flowy!
  • We’ll definitely have to come back and ride the northeast sector!

 A lively mountain base

A new (and huge!) chalet will be inaugurated at the base of the mountain, just in time for the ski season. In the meantime, there’s a container in the reception area that becomes a party spot on weekends. There’s also a friendly boutique offering a full range of items in the Mount Adstock colors. Technical clothing, t-shirts, crewnecks and more… you name it!

Want to experience the destination in vanlife mode? For two summers now, a Go-Van area has been set up on the mountain, right next to the bike and alpine hiking trails. What more could you ask for!
