Sleep elsewhere

Jeanne and Nancy’s long winter weekend in Chaudière-Appalaches!

Jeanne and Nancy

Our winter weekend in the Chaudière-Appalaches region begins in the heart of the Parc du Massif du Sud in Saint-Philémon and ends at the Sartiga Spa sur le Lac (formerly NRJ Spa Nordique) in Saint-Alfred.

A little exercise to win our accommodation

The adventure began as soon as we arrived at Parc du Massif du Sud: as the PODs are not accessible by car in winter, we made our way with our luggage in a sleigh to our accommodation. We quickly felt the call of nature: the tall fir trees full of snow, the fresh air, the silence.

 Our choice falls on snowshoeing

The next morning, we had a choice of cross-country skiing, mountain skiing and fat biking, but it was on snowshoes that we set off to explore the trails. Parc du Massif du Sud offers over 40 kilometers of marked trails! Enough to have fun for a very long time.

We have to admit that we stretched our morning a little to take advantage of the PODs, the ideal place to enjoy a coffee in the heart of nature!

Cassis et Mélisse, what an inspiring story!

But we had to choose wisely, because we knew what was coming next: a meeting with artisan cheesemaker Aagje Denys from Fromagerie fermière Cassis et Mélisse and cheese tasting.

What an inspiring story Ms Denys has! A committed and passionate woman who wants to inspire people to take a greater interest in agriculture and the quality of the products we eat.

All the products from the Fromagerie fermière Cassis et Mélisse are certified organic and are made with respect for the balance of nature and the well-being of the animals.

We were even lucky enough to meet a charming little goat barely 24 hours old (!!!).

Skating in the forest and a nature spa to round off the day

After a good night’s sleep and a bite to eat, we set off for Bleuetière Goulet, which offers 5 km of forest trails for skating, among other things. There was a light snowfall and we were alone on the rink, it was magical!

After all that activity, it was time to relax! Located on the edge of Lac-Sartigan, Sartiga Spa sur le Lac (formerly NRJ Spa Nordique) offers a unique Nordic and Finnish spa concept.

It’s great to be able to enjoy the spa experience in a natural environment. What better way to end a stay in the Chaudière-Appalaches region!

Thanks for the invitation, see you this summer!
