We’re entering that time of year when winter activities are behind us, and time spent outdoors is a mix of melting snow, splashing mud and puddles that often shorten the time spent outside. Sometimes it takes a little more imagination to get the kids moving! It seemed an ideal time to discover Délire Escalade in downtown Lévis, an inviting place to introduce the whole family to this increasingly popular sport.

 Getting started in exploration mode

First of all, the space is vast and airy, and the many colorful holds on the different routes already set a playful tone for the activity! Délire Escalade Lévis is all about having fun, although experienced climbers are also welcome.

In just a few minutes, we’d slipped on the climbing shoes available on site, were briefed on a few safety precautions and were already in wall exploration mode. The center offers free bouldering (without belaying) at different, well-marked levels of difficulty, for young and old, beginners and advanced climbers alike.

 The pleasure of challenging yourself

It’s a great opportunity to challenge ourselves, build confidence, push our intrinsic motivation, work on our concentration and encourage each other as a family, as well as discovering new muscles all over our bodies.

A highly accessible sport in a friendly atmosphere

After a good hour’s climbing, the kids were feeling a bit peckish. On site, a bistro counter offered a variety of beverages, snacks and light meals, so they could take a break to invigorate themselves before heading back up the mountain. Homemade smoothies and popcorn were sure to please!

We found it as much fun to climb as it was to watch other climbers take on more complex routes. Many of them didn’t hesitate to share their techniques and tips with us, making the experience all the more stimulating. The atmosphere was friendly, relaxed and the sport very accessible. We also liked the spontaneity of not having to make reservations.

 A passion that's passed on

Délire Escalade is definitely a place where enthusiasts come together, and it’s bound to spread! Let’s see now if we’ll take a course – another offer available on site – for our next visit!
