From my first visit to Somnambule a few years ago, I fell in love with the place, their products, and their passionate owners!

 A unique terroir

Le Somnambule is a family-run business, committed to maintaining its human scale, while constantly striving to innovate, with values of authenticity, respect for the environment, simplicity and creativity.

The quality of their ciders reflects the unique terroir in which the cider house is located. Their recipes are inspired by the fruits, flowers and plants found on site. Dent de Lion, for example, has been macerated with dandelion flowers, giving it an interesting bitterness and a distinctive vegetal edge. Plums, cherries, blueberries, grapes, wild crabapples, pimbina, aronia and sumac are just some of the herbs that make the different cuvées so original!

 The perfect playground

The vast, soothing, natural site, even a little wild in places, is also a favorite. It’s the perfect playground for a visit with the kids! What’s more, in keeping with our commitment to nature, the apples are not treated with chemicals (which is quite rare in apple growing), all the more reason to bite into them and discover the different varieties that evolve from August to November.

After picking, their terrace is ideal for a stroll on a fine autumn afternoon.

We played a game of cards while sipping our beverages to prolong the moment, before doing a little shopping in the boutique.

Art at the heart of the process

When we visited, there was a special event to launch their new image – a very nice one, by the way. Their revamped logo is the work of artist Phelipe Soldevila, who was in the spotlight that day. At Somnambule, art is at the heart of the production process, as much in the elaboration of the products as in each label, which features a unique work by a chosen artist, giving even more personality to the different ciders.

So we enjoyed a generous and tasty traditional paella, with a glass of chilled cider for me and sparkling apple juice for the kids. You can also bring your own picnic or choose a snack to accompany your meal.

Events are held sporadically throughout the season at the cider house, and you’ll be welcomed like family, in the friendly, authentic atmosphere of Le Somnambule!
