Virtually discover the rich heritage of the MRC des Appalaches! Thanks to virtual headset technology, it is possible to fly over certain abandoned mining sites in the MRC des Appalaches territory directly on site at the Minero Museum. The three-dimensional videos integrated into the visual field of the virtual helmets thus offer the most curious the opportunity to approach mining shafts submerged by turquoise water, mining dumps and the remains of four old asbestos mines.

Rencontres inspirantes - En vedette [HIDDEN TREASURES] Jeff On The Road Discovers Thetford's Hidden Treasures

When I think of the Thetford region, I immediately think of the famous, almost lunar landscapes typical of this area. Driving along the area's roads, it's easy to imagine the not-so-distant mining past that forged this place. As I discovered during my last visit to the region in the spring of 2022, Thetford has so much to offer visitors, and it's all within easy reach of several major urban centers. In this article, you'll discover some of Thetford's hidden treasures that I had the opportunity to visit during my most recent stay in the area. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
