Discover the inside of a famous “Bunker”, where science is our best ally. Our group of testers enjoyed the Science Bunker’s famous Chemistry Mission. Here’s our verdict!

As a parent, we often have to get creative to keep our youngsters busy at home. Some have fallen for a new games console, while others are going through their board games. But when you’ve become unbeatable at Mario Kart and your 156ᵉ game of Uno Flip no longer excites you, it’s high time to get out and dive into a truly immersive family experience!

The Bunker of Science, here we come!

I’d been wanting to experience a mission at the Science Bunker with my kids for a long time. I’d already tried out their outdoor escape games in 2019 with my colleagues. The fun and giggles we’d had racking our brains.

Now I really wanted to discover the inside of this famous “Bunker”, where science is our best ally. So why not go along with a great team of testers for even more fun?

Ateliers Scientifiks are available from the age of 6. From the age of 10, Apocalyptic Missions are open to you. At first glance, it’s hard to choose, since all the activities have highly original scenarios. We’ve opted for the Chemistry Mission, which has made the place so popular since it opened. Needless to say, my periodic table of elements was far from my mind. But hey, it takes what it takes to save humanity!

 Let's get our neurons firing!

As soon as we arrive, we’re plunged into the heart of the Third World War, in a post-apocalyptic setting that’s out of this world. We’re soon greeted by a survivor of the “Bunker”. She will be our experienced guide throughout our mission. She tells us that we’re part of a small group of survivors who must find the best location to build a new city to ensure our survival. Like real scientists, we don our lab coats and goggles and descend into our immersive underground laboratory.

Our young recruits are very impressed by the scenery and take their mission to heart. It’s not every day that we’re counted on to save humanity. We split the team into two groups of researchers, one adult on each side. Scientific rigor dictates that our research results must be duplicated.

 Our mission

Our scouts have identified 5 potential sites for our new camp, but… is the water drinkable? Is the land arable? Are there any medicinal plants?

At the analysis stations, our young researchers carry out tests using test tubes, lighters, various accessories and, of course, their keen sense of observation. Even the famous periodic table comes to the rescue. Rest assured, although the experiments are challenging, we have plenty of support to help us carry them out.

It was a very cool outing. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect when we entered this strange laboratory. Everything was dark and mysterious. All the stations were really fun. My favorite station was the water analysis. Our different waters were tinted with colors to determine whether they were drinkable or not. Sometimes we had to move fast, but it was really great!

I love experiments, both at school and at home. But here I was in a real laboratory with real instruments. I loved the candle station. When I got my test tube close to the flame, it suddenly went out. Now I know how to do magic!

Having already carried out various puzzle-solving activities, I really liked the highly immersive nature of the experience. The children really enjoyed carrying out the various manipulations, and afterwards, the parents’ analytical minds were put to the test. As time was short, this added a little extra “challenge”. The scientific aspect is carried out in a very playful spirit. The great thing is that you don’t have to be a science buff to complete and enjoy the mission. The whole family comes away proud and enthralled from start to finish!

Our verdict: a totally immersive experience!

Our verdict is in: this summer, you ABSOLUTELY have to experience one of the 6 indoor activities offered by the Bunker de la Science in Lévis. Whether you opt for an indoor apocalyptic mission or an outdoor invasion game, you’ll love the immersive nature of the experiences on offer. It’s an adventure that will keep you entertained and leave you with lasting memories. Science is truly amazing.

Science in action: a guaranteed hit!

It’s unanimous! Scientific demonstrations win testers’ “Coup de coeur” award!

Throughout our mission, incredible science demonstrations were offered by our guide between station changes. These always provoked incredible reactions. We’ll keep it a surprise, but from the looks on our young scientists’ faces, you won’t be disappointed!

Psitt… By the way, the Science Bunker is open exclusively to the general public in summer, so don’t miss your chance to visit!
