What could be better than meeting Santa Claus in his beautiful home in the heart of an illuminated forest, where his multi-talented elves live side by side? At Woodooliparc, in Scott in Beauce, the magic of Christmas is just around the corner!

 A return to childhood!

As soon as you step through the gates, your age stays with you, and you immediately feel transported into the Christmas enchantment that the world of FRIMA: LA MAGIE DE NOËL is trying to take you into. We’re welcomed with a smile, we hear pretty melodies and our eyes look everywhere. When we picked up our tickets at the reception desk (it’s important to book online before coming), we were given a card for each family to punch with the “punch elves”.Once we’ve completed the card, we’ll be able to get our certificate at the post office. The children take their role very seriously and try to spot the elves quickly.

We chose to start our tour by taking the left-hand path towards the stage to listen to the story of Fantasiova, the guardian of colours. Just next door, a gourmet stop, campfires and benches with blankets scattered around invite us to take a break. We thought this would be the ideal place to end the evening with a nice hot chocolate and doughnuts by the fire, but first we continued our visit by heading towards the North Pole to stretch our legs in the tunnels and slides. Some of them are so high that you have to, and I quote my Léanne, “work up your courage” to go down them!

 Snow, sliding and children's laughter

After slides, an obstacle maze and more slides, we set off along the paths towards Santa’s House. It’s a beautiful, brightly lit trail, and we’re constantly impressed by all the hard work and thoughtfulness that goes into it. The elements are both decorations and games for the children to play with, and believe me, they’re having fun! So much so that we have to remind them that there’s still plenty to discover so that we can move on a bit and hope to have seen everything in the recommended three hours we have left to tour the site!

As soon as you push open the door to Santa’s House, the smell of freshly baked biscuits wafts over you. We discover Mother Christmas in her kitchen, waiting for us with a big smile and welcoming us into her home with a nice warm biscuit.

 It smells good in here!

We walk through the room, the house is warm and well decorated, and then we discover Santa Claus at the back in his workshop, the desk full of letters and the big children’s book open in front of him. The children take it in turns to meet him and make their requests, while the parents stretch their ears a little to hear the secrets they exchange. Santa Claus is a bit of a rascal, offering the children different words from the traditional “cheese” for the official photo. We were treated to “ouistiti that smells of wee” and “rotten spaghetti”, which worked really well and made everyone laugh! In the next room, we discovered an illuminated village of more than 600 Lemax houses, including a game of ‘seek and find’, something to amuse young and old alike!

Getting your hands dirty (or in the snow)

We say goodbye to our hosts and head off to the elf workshop. Inside, we can colour wrapping paper and even make eternal snow ($) with Bric-à-brac, the clever elf-inventor. Meanwhile, my youngest, who loves cars and trucks, is having fun watching the toys go by on the track, something he could probably do for hours. On the way out, we don’t forget to pop into the post office opposite to collect our certificate.

Hot chocolate and hearts filled with magic

After our little tour of the village, before leaving, we return as planned to the gourmet stop near the stage to enjoy a hot chocolate and doughnuts by the fire. The children take the opportunity to listen to a second story and chat with the elves on hand, while we, the parents, settle down on the benches nearby with a good cup of coffee… Bailey’s! A few of us went to the boutique to pick up a few souvenirs or even gifts. The evening was a success, everyone was happy and we left for a gentle drive home, as all the kids had fallen asleep just a few kilometers away. They’re probably dreaming of Christmas!
