Sleep elsewhere

The unforgettable winter adventure vacation of the family Cinq à l’aventure

Saint-Jules and Saint-Sylvestre
SARAH WITTY - CINQ À L'AVENTURE

Spending three days with your family in the magnificent Chaudière-Appalaches region is like taking a magical break. With snow-covered landscapes as far as the eye can see and a variety of winter activities, our stay was marked by moments of happiness and discovery. Snowshoeing, zip-lining, skating and Austrian tobogganing punctuated our days, creating unforgettable memories. I’d like to take you on a journey where nature and fun were the order of the day.

 Day 1

Our first day in the Aventuria chalets began with delicious pancakes topped with maple syrup. Thanks to the gourmet package, the freshly prepared mix was already in our fridge, making it easy for us to prepare this tasty breakfast as a family.

Satiated by this morning feast, we set off to discover Aventuria’s aerial trails. First we put on our harnesses, then we were given a short demonstration to build our confidence. Perched on snow-covered trees, the various platforms could be reached via bridges, nets and tunnels. The children loved testing themselves on these courses, seeing each stage as a challenge to be met.

Once courses 1 and 2 were completed, we ventured onto the circuit consisting exclusively of 14 zip lines, an exhilarating adventure in a breathtaking winter setting. The alternation between the adrenalin of each start and the serenity of the white landscape made the activity unforgettable.

In the evening, we shared a comforting fondue. Once again, with the gourmet package, all the ingredients and some freshly cooked dishes were already in our fridge. This meant we could enjoy a full meal without having to worry about grocery shopping. It was the perfect way to round off a sensational first day.

 Day 2

After waking up peacefully in the comfort of our chalet, we set off for Bleuetière Goulet, just 15 minutes away. We skated on 5 km of icy trails winding through the forest, an enchanting sight under the sunlight filtering through the trees. There were several rest areas along the way, including one where you could warm up around a fire.

At lunchtime, we enjoyed a meal on site, with a menu offering a wide variety of choices. Irresistible frozen desserts captivated the interest of the children, who had a hard time choosing from the impressive selection.

In the evening, we enjoyed a feast at the Bistro L’Ouvrier from Verger à Ti-Paul, where dinner was a real tribute to flavours. In a unique setting and friendly atmosphere, we were served generous, carefully prepared dishes. The evening was enlivened by singers who performed a number of Quebec hits, making for a festive and entertaining evening.

 Day 3

On our final day, we headed to Mont Radar for a unique experience: Austrian sledging. The outdoor centre offers 2 x 2.3 km runs down Mont Radar (which is 698 metres high!) in a spectacular winter landscape.

On our first run, we noticed how easy it was to manoeuvre the sled through the bends. We could also easily control our speed, which gave us more confidence with each run.

We did 4 runs in total and every time we reached the bottom of the run, a bus would take us back up to the top, barely giving us time to catch our breath before diving back into the adventure.

This experience at Mont Radar was the perfect way to round off our stay with a final dose of adrenalin and family fun.
