The off-trail adventure in Parc du Massif du Sud

Saint-Philémon
Au Québ

Nestled in the heart of the enchanting landscapes of the Chaudière-Appalaches region, Parc du Massif du Sud is undoubtedly a jewel for off-piste skiing enthusiasts. With the vast quantities of snow for which the area is renowned, it’s hardly surprising that it’s become one of Quebec’s must-see spots for this sport! In winter, the legendary park is transformed into a white paradise, where the immaculate trails and undergrowth provide a thrill with every descent.

A choice between two reserved areas

There’s something for everyone here, with two reserved areas that are not served by mechanised lifts.

The Zone de l’Enclave is a vast 6-hectare area that’s ideal for an introduction to mountain skiing, with a gentle slope of between 15% and 20%.

The Zone de l’Érablière offers an extra challenge with a slope of 27.5% and a vertical drop of 200m. The latter is recommended for snowboarders.

 A unique adventure

Off-piste skiing at Parc du Massif du Sud is a unique adventure with a change of scenery. It’s like being alone in the world!

After putting the skins on your skis or splitboard, you pass by the charming 4-season accommodation to reach the skin track. Depending on the sector you choose, the approach takes you between 2 and 3 kilometers through breathtaking scenery that makes for a simply magical experience.

Once at the top, you take off your skins and get ready to hit the famous powder snow, which is often abundant. Ahhh the Massif du Sud micro-climate! As the descent doesn’t end at the reception area, it’s easy to get back to the summit in around thirty minutes, then link up with a few other slopes.

Pssst! To extend the pleasure, you can sleep in one of Parc du Massif du Sud’s cosy accommodations, which offer several 4-season options, including the brand-new Éclipse ready-to-camp campsites in the Bouleaux sector.
