Some say there’s nothing to do in spring. Perfect for an idle Sunday watching the geese.

 By the river...

Ah, spring. There’s nothing to do. On the contrary!

Now that the roads are free of snow, I’m just itching to take the Navigators’ Route for a spin.

Along the river. See the changing landscape, nature slowly waking up. Stroll into a café or a pub. But that’s another story.

Focus Stef. Focus.

Back to the river. I pass in front of the Saint-Vallier municipal rest area… then I realize I’m not the only one who had this great idea to do nothing today… There are tanks here! The parking lot’s full. Ah yes, that’s right! The geese are back!

There’s nothing to do in spring… Ah yes, that’s right! The geese are back!

 ...for the most beautiful show!

Fortunately, I always have my camera with me. It’s April 2021.

But, between you and me, if the trend continues, the geese should be back again this year between early April and mid-May. Will you be there too?

Every spring, the Greater Snow Goose leaves its wintering grounds on the U.S. east coast and heads for the Canadian Arctic to nest. The geese’s passage through the region is a stopover on this impressive journey.
