A sailboat trip on the river on a beautiful summer evening

It’s not every day you get to take a sailboat out on the river. So when the opportunity arises, I’ll be there!

I’d already done a 3-hour outing to learn the rudiments of maneuvers with Excursion à la voile with Formation Nautique Québec about 10 years ago, and another a few years later accompanying a childhood friend on his sailboat. Each time, it was simply magnificent!

This time, it’s as part of an outing with a professional photographer. I was delighted to accept my colleague Amélie’s invitation to accompany her on this outing and play the extras with my girlfriend. So we meet up with Guylain and Geneviève, who will be our crew for the outing.

Even if the objective of the outing is to make beautiful images (I admit we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful evening), we still have the opportunity to learn some navigation notions, the language used in this universe and the chance to participate by practicing a few maneuvers.

As we boarded the yacht, the first thing we did was put on the inflatable life jackets, and as soon as we left the marina, Guylain asked who would like to volunteer to steer the yacht. Amélie offers to take on this role during the outing.
