When I want to set off on a fatbike in contemplative mode, there’s nothing better than the Parcours des Anses.

 Direction Quai Paquet

The magnificent Parcours des Anses runs right by our house. One fine morning, I decided to buy a fatbike so I could enjoy it all year round! I’ve never regretted my purchase!

From our house to the Quai Paquet, it’s nearly 6 kilometers on a false flat downhill. Very pleasant and relaxing. You might as well make the most of it, because on the way back, it’s a whole different story …

 Should I stop or continue?

When I’m feeling up to it, I head to the start of the Anses course in Saint-Romuald for an extra 6 kilometers.

Whatever my choice, before coming back, I always stop at the Quai Paquet to watch the skaters having fun on the 600-meter refrigerated ice trail and also to enjoy the view of the Château Frontenac. If I don’t have 1,000 photos of the château from this spot in my archives, I don’t have one.

Well rested after this little break, I’m heading back home for one last 6 kilometers, of course, with a false flat climb this time. I need to push the machine a bit more.

All the time, I arrive home with a big smile on my face after this ride!

Fatbike outing on the Parcours des Anses

In winter, the route offers a completely different experience for cyclists and walkers, with the beauty of the winter landscape. A stop at the Quai Paquet and its frozen ice skating trail is a must to see for yourself the great family atmosphere that takes place here.
