A day out with colleagues at Ziptopia: laughter, bouncing nets, and zip lines!

Florence Pouliot

You know your day is going to be memorable when you plan to zip-line 50 feet in the air and jump into a course of bouncing nets. That’s right! That’s exactly what happened during our outing with colleagues and their children at Ziptopia in Saint-Philémon!

We're entering the forest... and the Ziptopia Village!

After a short walk through the forest, you come upon a superb reception building nestling among the trees. It’s a little gem: there’s shade, tables to relax on and a counter where you can buy sweets. I can tell you that we made the most of it at the end of the day! Before putting on our harnesses, the staff let us explore Ziptopia Village. It was love at first sight for the children. Imagine a huge playground suspended in the trees, with bouncing nets, slides, suspension bridges and places to climb, jump and laugh endlessly. My colleagues’children went wild. And honestly? So did I! I had way too much fun having an impromptu balloon fight in the nets with them!

Harnesses, karabiners and legs that shake a bit

When the time comes, we put on our harnesses – which are really comfortable, by the way – and receive all the safety instructions. Then it was off to the aerial courses and zip lines.

Well, I’ll be honest, my legs were a bit weak on the first platform. But you’re really well secured, the installations are solid and well thought out… and above all, the fun quickly takes over. In fact, the children completely amazed me: they climbed, dashed and crossed the bridges like pros. The courses are designed for all levels, with heights ranging from 10 to 55 feet. Whether you’re a beginner or a daredevil, everyone can go at their own pace and find their own challenge!

 Time for the Ultimate Challenge!

While the youngsters continued to have fun on the aerial courses, the adults decided to get down to business. They headed for the Ultimate Challenge, reserved for those aged 14 and over.

With 31 zip lines, 9 suspension bridges, 5 pirate nets to climb, a Tarzan rope, an out-of-place picnic table (you’ll understand once you get there!), all at dizzying heights, we were well served. Although I’m not usually afraid of heights… at the top of the first platform, my throat was a little dry.

But once I was on the first zip line… WOW. The wind in my face, the spectacular views of the forest, the cheers of my colleagues… it was just magical. And so much fun!

We finished it all off with a nice slush for everyone, which felt so good on such a hot day. We left with our arms a little tired, but our hearts full of joy!
