Walking side by side with an alpaca is anything but ordinary. For an hour, you walk with this curious and slightly shy ball of wool, to the rhythm of its little steps in the snow. The wind blowing, the forest crackling, the silence soothing… and this animal looking at you as if you were his best friend.

I fell under the spell of this dome hidden on the banks of a frozen river. You reach it by a secret little path, and immediately everything slows down. The fire crackles, the hot tub smokes under the snowflakes, the children laugh outside. It’s one of those places where I feel truly connected to nature… and to myself.

Brand new to the region, this refuge hidden away in the heart of the forest is well worth a visit. It’s a bit of a drive to get there, but once you’re there, you’ll discover an intimate, calm and genuinely soothing spa. You can even reserve a private section to relax with friends or family. A simple, genuine luxury.

Holiday traditions have always held a special place in my heart. At the Maison Alphonse-Desjardins, I’ve rediscovered that magic: the smells of yesteryear, the laughter of children hunting for elves and that little bit of nostalgia that warms the heart.

I love Aventuria because it’s the perfect balance between adventure and fun. By day, we play outside: zip lines, aerial trails, snowshoeing and laughter. And in the evening, we retreat to our little perched cocoon. The kind of weekend where time really does stand still.

I love it when a place reinvents itself, and here it’s a great success. Between snowshoeing, fat biking and cross-country skiing, I fell in love with the skating trail in the forest: 2.5 km of perfect ice winding through the fir trees, with a little refuge and a log fire halfway along the way. A real winter favourite, simple and magical.

Ever since we moved to Lévis, I’ve been amazed by the amount of green space right in the heart of the city. But in winter, my real favourite is the Parc des Chutes-de-la-Chaudière: ice, cliffs and curious chickadees. Walking there is a reminder that you don’t have to go far to get a change of scenery.

I had a really lovely time with the family here: everyone concentrated on creating their first bowls and decorating them in their own image. A gentle, creative, accessible activity… If you want to slow down and leave with something beautiful (and made by you), this is the perfect place.

I used to associate L’Islet mainly with summer and the river… until we discovered its winter charm. Staying at the Poulailler de l’Auberge des Glacis, we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area before introducing the kids to cross-country skiing: equipment on loan, a friendly atmosphere and peaceful trails… a first time that quickly turned into a family favourite.

When winter gets unpredictable (too mild, too wet, too uncertain) I like to go climbing at Délire Escalade. The atmosphere is relaxed, the colourful walls motivate the whole family and everyone finds their own challenge. We laugh, we encourage each other, we finish with red cheeks and… the post-climb smoothie tastes of pride.
