Marc Côté stone sculptures garden: welcome to Marichka and Marc’s paradise

Sculptures Marc Côté

The first thing that I think of when I think about my visit to the Marc Côté gallery and stone sculpture garden is a good time. The weather was good, the light was good, the welcome was warm and it was the countryside at its best.

O n a warm Wednesday in summer, I took to the road with my colleagues Richard and Stéphanie. We’ve got to put ourselves into the shoes of tourists from time to time. We were welcomed with open arms by Marc et Marichka. They live in a charming house near the Route des Navigateurs  in Cap-Sainte-Ignace. But what first grabbed my attention was the beauty of the garden, the wide variety of trees and flowers and especially their works of art. I was full of smiles, I found the site relaxing, I explored and got into the energy of the moment.

During this time, my friend Stéphanie took some beautiful pictures. There’s so much beauty to photograph.

Listening to Marc talk about his passion was an experience unto itself, as each sculpture has its own story to tell. The stone sculptures created by Marc are exclusive, original, refined and modern. This stone sculpture art form has no equal and will add warmth and nobility to your surroundings, both old or modern. Marbles from Ontario, Vermont and Brazil, limestone, sandstone and granite are just some of the quality materials used in the creation of these sculptures.

Marc Côté was named as an internationally recognized sculptor by the arts journalists at National Geographic Traveler, in their March 2008 issue. The pavilion that acts as the gallery houses close to thirty sculptures inside, while the splendid garden contains around thirty more sculptures of all shapes and sizes.

Here’s how Marichka and Marc describe the garden...

« A secret garden where beauties and goddesses reign, where stones turn into flowers »

« An intimate gallery where femininity, sensuality and glamour blend together »

We finished off the visit with coffee and cookies. We met some proud ambassadors of our beautiful Chaudière-Appalaches region. Thanks for this human warmth.

« We’ll be happy to welcome you to our corner of paradise. » And it’s really true!
