Born in 1964 from a non-profit association wishing to keep people on the edge of route 132 during the construction of the Jean-Lesage highway, La Roche à Veillon was originally one of the first Quebec boîtes à chansons. The following year, the beautiful barn also attracted tourists with the aroma of regional dishes simmered by Madame Lucille Fortin.
