Maison de l’Anse-aux-Oies | 5 reasons to return

L'Islet

Settle into a gîte so invigorating and welcoming that you’ll immediately ask “When can we come back?”. Owners Sylvie and René invite you into their magnificent house with its red cornice, instantly recognizable in the village.

Reason #1  Morning, noon, evening... the Maison vibrates to the rhythm of the day

From sunrise to sunset, the Maison de l’Anse-aux-Oies accompanies you in an atmosphere that mirrors your state of mind. Start the day with yoga in the backyard, facing the river as it gently awakens. Or maybe it’s the smell of breakfast that draws you out of your room? Let yourself be guided to the canopy for your first coffee of the day.

In the afternoon, take a walk along the shore, have a picnic in the B&B courtyard and discover the hidden treasures of L’Islet-sur-Mer as you stroll through the charming little streets.

In the evening, relive your slow, beautiful day in front of a campfire and the breathtaking sunset over the river. Isn’t that what vacations are all about?

Reason #2  Sylvie and René, your attentive hosts

Nothing makes Sylvie and René happier than seeing their guests happy and comfortable. The owners’ warm welcome is sure to impress. Smiles, warmth and kindness are words that will come to mind every time you cross the threshold of the Maison. See for yourself – we’re not even saying it!

“A huge thank you to you for your warm welcome. You are very generous people. It shows and is felt in everything you do.”

Reason #3  René's incredible gourmet breakfasts

Imagine a decadent 3-course menu combining sweet and savory. Yum! The plates, concocted with local produce, exude creativity. Each one is presented with attention to detail. Here, everything is in place to respect everyone’s tastes and spend a pleasant moment of pleasure and sharing. Take a seat at the table! You’re in the family!

Reason #4  Vibrant village life

Step outside the B&B and let yourself be carried away by a village that vibrates around the river: l’Islet. Right next door, you’ll find the Musée maritime du Québec and its Parc fluvial. Take the opportunity to visit the 2 museum boats! Unmissable and breathtaking!

Then head to Parc du Havre du Souvenir to experience real village life. Right next to the Park, sit back and enjoy a cocktail on the terrace of the Fiesta sur mer, with the sea breeze in your hair.

Extend your escapade and continue on to the neighboring village of Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. Museums, art galleries and small shops will amaze you. For dinner, a meal of the sea awaits you at La Queue de Homard. A lobster roll at lunchtime is a real treat!

Reason #5  Discover the river differently

During a stay at Maison de l’Anse-aux-Oies, the St. Lawrence River is omnipresent. So why not take a cruise and discover it for yourself? Starting at the Berthier-sur-Mer marina (just 30 minutes from the B&B), Les Croisières Lachance offers several fascinating cruises to help you discover the river and the Isle-aux-Grues archipelago. From May to June, the 1000 penguins cruise will introduce you to the Alca Torda nesting not far from the B&B.
In July, the Lachance family will take you on an expedition to the Secret Islands of the St. Lawrence. Three generations of Canoe Island natives, the Lachance captains will reveal the mysteries and wonders of the archipelago’s 21 islands.

 Feel at home!

La Maison de l’Anse-aux-Oies is much more than just a bed and breakfast. It’s a place where you really feel at home. The warmth of your hosts’ welcome, the quality of the rooms and the beauty of the surroundings are sure to make you say “See you next time, Sylvie and René!
